KIJI
Kizhi Pogost, more commonly known as Kizhi, is an island located on Lake Onega in the Republic of Karelia. The Kizhi Historical and architectural Ensemble is included in the UNESCO Heritage List.
Its main attraction is the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord – it has 22 domes and it is made entirely of wood by local architects (you can see it on the protective tag of our T-shirt). In general, the Republic of Karelia is very beautiful and famous for many places, one of which is Lake Onega, the third largest in Russia.
On the shore of the lake there are petroglyphs – rock carvings dated by the Paleolithic period. There are about 1200 of them in total. But that’s not all. There are a lot of amazing places in Karelia: Kivach Waterfall, Girvas volcano, Lake Ladoga, Vaalam Island, Ruskeala Mountain Park and many others.
You can read more about all the wonders of Karelia in the article.
Our KIJI T-shirt is as unusual as these places: it has a semi-oversize cut. Yes, yes, not a classic, and not an oversize, but something in between. Made of organic cotton, density 190 g/m2. One of the most popular and favorite models.
